The CERN Summer Student Program in Switzerland in 2024 is now accepting applications. It’s open to all international students. The CERN Studentship Programme is open to students from member nations and other countries. This internship is fully funded and will take place in Geneva, Switzerland.

Students of Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree (but not PhD) are eligible to apply for CERN Summer Internship program. Any nationality is welcome to apply. This will pay for everything for the next eight to thirteen weeks.

The CERN Summer Student Programme opens access to international careers after a rewarding experience. Benefits of the CERN Summer Student Program 2024:

  • A contract of association of 8 to 13 weeks to work on a technical project.
  • A travel allowance on a lump sum basis paid at the end of your stay to help you with the cost of travel between Geneva and your residence at the time of the selection committee.
  • A living stipend of CHF 90 per calendar day (net of tax) to cover one person’s food and accommodation in the Geneva region for the term of the contract.
  • Coverage under the extensive health insurance programme offered by CERN (payment already deducted from allowance).
  • Assistance to find accommodation on the CERN site or nearby.

What would you learn?

As an integral part of an experimental, engineering, or computing team, you will contribute to an advanced technological project for a maximum of three months. You can take part in a series of lectures that have been carefully planned for you at this exceptional and fascinating period. Experts and scientists from all over the world will be sharing their knowledge about a wide range of topics in the domains of theoretical and experimental particle physics, engineering, and computing.

Eligibility Criteria of the CERN Summer Student Program 2024:

  • Any nationality are eligible to apply.
  • Throughout your online studentship with CERN, you will continue to be enrolled as a student.
  • The European summer of 2023 should mark the completion of at least three years of full-time studies.
  • It is not acceptable for you to have worked at CERN for longer than three months in the past or to have previously taken part in the summer student programme.
  • You have a good knowledge of English. knowledge of French would be an advantage.

Required Documents for the CERN Summer Student Program 2024:

  • A resume(CV) in French or English. Make sure your resume(CV) has all the qualifications and experience that will help you stand out from the competition.
  • A copy of your most recent academic transcript with a summary of your grades.
  • Two required reference letters from your lecturers and/or the supervisors of your previous internships.

Application Deadline for the Internship Programme:

The deadline for students of all nationalities to apply to the CERN Summer Student Programme 2024 is January 31, 2024.
