Hansen Foundation, offers young leaders from all over the world who are passionate about leadership and want to become global leaders the chance to participate in a 3-week exchange program at the University of San Diego.
The Hansen Leadership Institute provides training in the principles, procedures, and psychology of effective, moral, and forward-thinking leadership. In recent years, we’ve begun to broaden our perspective to take gender issues in leadership into account. A portal to a dynamic online hub where the Hansen Alum team interacts, communicates, and works together on peace and community-building projects is provided by the 24/7 intense community of our three-week programme.

The Fred J. Hansen Foundation is the sole source of funding for the Hansen Summer Institute. This includes:

- The only cost to participants will be the fees incurred in obtaining a passport and spending money.
Eligibility for Hansen Leadership Institute Exchange program 2024 in USA:
NON-AMERICAN STUDENTS: (from zones of conflict and/or social strife)
- Graduate student with a professional interest in international relations, diplomacy, international economic development, or allied subjects or upper division undergraduate with two years of college or university.
- Students must be between the ages of 20-25 at the start of the program.
- Must have shown potential for leadership outside of the classroom in the community, the country, or the area.
- Have an academic adviser verify in writing the candidate’s English proficiency.
- Have a current international passport and, if necessary, a visa for the United States by the start of the program.
- You do not need a U.S. visa to apply for the program.
- Preference will be given to those who have never visited the United States.
U.S STUDENTS:

Application Deadline:
11:30 p.m. Pacific Time on January 15, 2024 for applicants from outside the United States, and March 15, 2024 for applicants within the United States.
