Types A

  • A full scholarship is referred to as type A.
  • Exempt students are permitted to remain on campus and obtain comprehensive health insurance.
  • In addition, students will get a monthly living expenditure allowance of CNY3500 for doctorate programs, CNY3000 for graduate programs, and CNY2500 for undergraduate programs, depending on their program level.

Type B

  • This type of research is referred to as a partial scholarship of Type B.
  • No tuition fees and complete health insurance coverage are provided.

Required Document for the Shanghai Government Scholarship:

  • Copies of each degree that have been verified by SGS.
  • Photocopy of Passport.
  • All transcripts have been attestation copied.
  • A medical or physical exam certificate.
  • Blood report photocopy.
  • Letter of Acceptance by the university (if any)
  • Language proficiency Certificate (Chinese or English)
  • One of the following documents: Study plan/proposal , Research plan , Letter of intent/Statement of purpose , and Motivation letter
  • Abstract for PhD thesis

Eligibility Criteria:

  • HSK4 Chinese language proficiency is required, and candidates must fulfil the program’s and the university’s language requirements.
  • Chinese nationals are not eligible to apply for this grant; only international students may.
  • To enroll in a pre-college program, applicants who are younger than 23 must possess a high school diploma.
  • Students at the BS level under 25 are required to hold a high school diploma.
  • Applicants for MS degrees under 35 years old must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree holders are able to enroll in the PhD program as long as they are under 40.
  • Applicants must have outstanding academic performance and meet the entry requirements of the university and program.
  • Applicants who have already received other scholarships from the Chinese government or organizations are not eligible to apply for this program.
